• First elected in 1998, Congressman Joseph Crowley is currently serving his fifth term in Congress, representing New York's 7th Congressional District of Queens and the Bronx.


Congressman Crowley currently sits on the influential Committee on Ways and Means and is in his third term as Chief Deputy Whip for the Democratic Caucus, making him the highest-ranking Member among New York Democrats to serve in the leadership. He uses his role at the leadership table and on the Ways and Means committee to fight for the priorities of his district: better jobs, quality healthcare, a competitive New York City and a secure America.

He is also a Vice Chair and Whip of the New Democrat Coalition, Congress' largest organized caucus of centrist, pro-business Democrats dedicated to issues relating to strengthening our national security, improving technology and growing the American economy.

A native of Queens, New York, Representative Crowley has also worked to improve the standing of both the international and financial communities in New York City through his work in past Congresses as a member of the Committees on International Relations and Financial Services. He has encouraged financial service firms to open up offices in his district and has worked globally to open markets for American companies, meaning more jobs for American workers.

Representing a growing and diverse district, Congressman Crowley has also fought for key issues, including immigration, and to improve international relations with countries from where many of his constituents have immigrated from.

The Congressman is married to Kasey. They have three children: Cullen, Kenzie Louise and Liam.
