Now, as they enter the twilight of their lives, they now turn to us for assistance --- assistance to which they are entitled."

  • Fighting for a real prescription drug coverage program
  • Leading the efforts in Congress to allow for the reimportation of safe, effective, FDA-approved, American-made prescription drugs, so as to lower the costs of medications for seniors by almost 50% overnight
  • Advocating for increased Federal funding for Home Health Care to allow seniors to live with dignity and receive care in their homes and not in nursing institutions
  • Opposing any attempts to privatize Social Security, which could leave seniors open to fraud and bankruptcy as witnessed in the sad and tragic situation involving Enron and its retirees
  • Mandating that Congress fix the Social Security Notch to correct the shortchanging of thousands of New York seniors with respect to their Social Security checks
  • Securing $64.4 Million in additional funding for New York area veterans this year
  • Leading the Charge in Congress Against Increasing the Co-Payments for Veterans Prescription Medications
