• Joined with the Juniper Park Civic Association to successfully have the area known as South Elmhurst have its zip code changed to 11379


• Worked closely with Mayor Bloomberg to ensure the 6-acre Keyspan plot at Grand Avenue and 74th Street is turned into a community park and not a big box store


• Brought $720,000 in Federal funding for the 21st Century Learning Program, an after-school educational program to keep kids off the street and in a safe environment


• Securing $100,000 from the EPA to conduct an air quality study for Northwestern Queens, paying particular attention to the problems brought on by LaGuardia Airport


• Addressing the police manpower shortage at the 104th Police Precinct with NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly to keep the Juniper Park community safe


• Successfully persuading the VA to open a Veterans Outpatient Health Clinic in Sunnyside, at 41-03 Queens Boulevard, (Between 41st Street and Queens Blvd)
