Chairman Crowley Statement on International Workers’ Day

(Queens, NY) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx) released the following statement on International Workers’ Day:

“This year, International Workers’ Day comes at an important time for workers’ rights and the labor movement.

“Dedicated teachers are standing together to defend their basic dignity, fast-food workers are advocating for wages their families can live on, and workers are protecting their freedom to form strong unions - reminding us all that the fight to ensure future generations have the opportunities to succeed is far from over.

“As we celebrate the contributions of those who helped build this country, let’s dedicate ourselves to fighting for better wages, better jobs, and better opportunities for the workers of Queens and the Bronx, and the entire country.”
