Chairman Crowley Statement on Release of House Intelligence Committee Republicans’ Russia Report

(Washington, D.C.) – House Democratic Chairman Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx) released the following statement after House Intelligence Committee Republicans’ issued their report on Russian interference in the 2016 elections:

“This report is further proof that House Intelligence Committee Republicans were never serious about a thorough, nonpartisan investigation into Russia’s interference in our elections. From day one, Republicans undermined the investigation, dismissing facts and twisting information, all in an effort to give the Trump administration cover. If Republicans had put as much effort into pursuing the facts as they did attacking the credibility of the investigation, we would know more today about Russia’s attack and how to protect our country in the future.

“This is a matter of national security – and must be taken seriously. Americans deserve answers, and House Democrats will continue our efforts to uncover the truth and protect the integrity of our democracy.”
