Washington, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-L.I./Queens), Grace Meng (D-Queens), Joe Crowley (D-Queens/Bronx), and Kathleen Rice (D-L.I.), members of the Congressional Quiet Skies Caucus, today applauded provisions in the FAA Reauthorization Act that aim to mitigate aircraft noise.

“As New York Members of the Quiet Skies Caucus, we understand that the constant noise pollution overhead of our bedroom communities in Queens and Long Island is an environmental hazard that has negatively and severely impacted our constituents’ health and well-being for too long. While there is more work to do on these critical matters, today, several amendments passed the House of Representatives that will empower the FAA to combat disruptive and dangerous airplane and helicopter noise.  This is an important step forward.”
