Congressman Crowley Statement on House Republicans’ Immigration Principles

(Queens, N.Y.) – Today, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx), Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, released the statement below on the House Republicans’ immigration principles:

“I’m glad House Republicans finally seem to be taking the need for comprehensive immigration reform seriously. I’ve long called for comprehensive reform that includes a pathway to citizenship, and I welcome my colleagues to this discussion. Now, Republicans must join Democrats in a meaningful and serious dialogue on how to make immigration reform a reality.”

Congressman Crowley is the eight-term representative from the 14th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives.
