Crowley Hears Concerns, Expresses Commitment to Protect Seniors During Visit to RAIN Middletown Senior Center
(Bronx, N.Y.) – On Tuesday, April 30, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx) met with seniors from the RAIN Middletown Senior Center to hear their concerns and answer questions about Medicare, Social Security, and other issues on the minds of constituents.
“Bronx seniors have spent a lifetime saving and preparing for their golden years. They deserve peace of mind knowing the very programs they paid into, like Social Security, will continue to be there for them,” said Rep. Crowley. “I thank all those who came out for this important discussion. It was a great opportunity to answer their questions and express my commitment to protecting the programs that are important to our seniors.”
During the visit, Crowley, a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, which oversees Medicare and Social Security, expressed his commitment to fighting any effort to end Medicare as we know it or to privatize Social Security.
Congressman Crowley is the eight-term representative from the 14th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives.
