Crowley, SBA Promote Economic Growth on Walking Tour of 82nd Street Partnership

(Queens, NY) – On Monday, October 26, Rep. Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx), Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, was joined by U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Regional Administrator Kellie LeDet on a tour of the 82nd Street Partnership in Jackson Heights to meet with local merchants to discuss the availability of business counseling, loans and technical assistance through the SBA and other local economic development agencies.

“Connecting our small businesses with the tools and resources to help them grow is critically important if we want to fuel our local economy and spur job creation,” said Rep. Crowley. “I thank Regional Administrator Kellie LeDet, for taking the time to meet with some of the diverse businesses in our district and making the SBA’s services readily available to them. Our community’s entrepreneurial spirit is a vibrant one and I look forward to working closely with the SBA on ways to further help our business owners improve their bottom line.”

82nd Street Partnership Executive Director Leslie Ramos led the walking tour of the Business Improvement District which covers nearly 50 properties and 200 businesses.

Congressman Crowley is the nine-term representative from the 14th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives.
